Scattered, as the rain strikes the earth, flecks of muddy soil appear on shins
Above muddy bare toes cooling from a summer's-- long forgotten-- wishes
Coloring endless shores of desire pounded relentlessly by the unquenchable
Ocean, dissolving inhibitions in the land of our return to the origins before toes
Balanced the dash away to new worlds undiscovered, pain stations set firm,
Narrow slits along the time and again along ages, mean moments where we
Sliver landscapes until the world roils, and deep from the dung heap up pitch
Fragments of scoured teeth still sharp-- a child's treasure from a fossil hunt--
In defiance of wonting torrents purging laughter after the downpour breaking
Morning sleep moistly, pulling against the stinky warm tug, pulsing yearning
Through paper veins crumpling under scrawl, discarded traces of erasures over
Smears of lifetimes evanescing with the primordial glow-- in a sleeping bag
With a flashlight, counting-- an inchoate wakefulness exploding in a singular
Concentration: a blemish on a speck of perfection unlost, dispersed on a smirk.
